The Anzac Poppy and the Anzac Biscuits

The red poppy has become a symbol of war remembrance the world over. People in many countries wear the poppy to remember those who died in war or who still serve. In New Zealand it is most commonly seen around Anzac Day, 25 April.

The Real ANZAC Biscuit Story Biscuits! Army Biscuits! Consider the hardness of them. Remember the cracking of your dental plate, the breaking of this tooth, the splintering of that.” From Army Biscuits.

There were no ANZAC biscuits at Gallipoli. The standard Army biscuit at this time was a rock hard tooth breaker also called this the ship’s biscuit.

My day out

To my dearest dad
The leafs were falling when I was out in that place where you taught me how to find food and then I spotted a eagle. The eagle starred at me eagle chased me I hid for a moment from eagle. I jumped out of a tree and landed on some soft leaves I climbed back up the tree and I jumped to another tree. I hid in my house and the eagle couldn't find me.

Love from your loving son Mathew.
